Bernard Shaw's eternally delightful tale of the rise of kerbside Covent Garden's Eliza Doolittle from flower-girl to fair lady really needs no introduction.

It's a beautifully crafted concoction of comedy, snappy dialogue and uplifting plot which gently conceals Mr Shaw's real mission to educate and encourage people of all backgrounds to better themselves, to not become ensnared within suffocating social groups and to strive to achieve as individuals rather than to indulge themselves in envy and criticism, whilst remaining permanently stuck, powerless and dissatisfied.

Pygmalion ran at the beautiful Ingatestone Hall in Essex this November.
