This Is Why You Should Sleep on Your Left Side

This Is Why You Should Sleep on Your Left
Side Everyone knows how important sleep is for
keeping in good physical and mental health. However, how long you sleep is just as important
as the way you sleep. The position you sleep in can affect your
health, help keep your skin looking young, and boost your digestive health. There are a few ways you can sleep- on your
front, your back, your left side, and your right side- and they all affect your health. Sleeping on the back can be harmful for people
with sleep apnea or asthma, because it can make it harder to breath. Sleeping on the right side is likely to make
digestive problems worse, while sleeping on the left side may boost digestion. Sleeping on the left side is believed to greatly
boost health, and even save lives. In holistic medicine, the left side of the
body is the controlling lymphatic side, and while you’re sleeping on this side, your
body will have more time to filter toxins, lymph fluid, and waste though the thoracic
duct and the lymph nodes. Here are six ways sleeping on your left side
is good for your health. 1. It Bolsters the Lymphatic System Ayurvedic medicine says that sleeping on your
left side lets your body better filter lymph fluid and waste through the lymph nodes. This is because the left side of our body
is the stronger lymphatic side. Western studies also found that sleeping on
the left side can help the body break down waste materials from the brain. However, sleeping on the right side can lower
the lymphatic system’s power. 2. It May Improve Digestion When it comes to digestion, sleeping on the
left side may be better than the right, because of gravity. Lying on the left side lets food waste easily
move from the large intestine into the lower colon, meaning you’re more likely to have
a bowel movement when you wake up. Sleeping on the left side lets the stomach
and pancreas hang naturally because our stomach lies on the left side of the body. This can make sure the body keeps creating
pancreatic enzymes and will help other digestive processes. 3. It’s Good for Your Heart Doctors advise that pregnant women sleep on
their left side to boost circulation to the heart. Even if you’re not pregnant, or a woman,
sleeping on the left side may help take some weight off the heart. Gravity can help lymph drainage toward the
heart, and aortic circulation away from the heart. 4. It’s Ideal for Pregnant Women Sleeping on the left side doesn’t only boost
pregnant women’s circulation. It can also help ease weight on the back,
keep the uterus from squeezing the liver, and raise blood flow to the uterus, kidneys,
and fetus. For this reason, doctors tell pregnant women
to spend as much of their sleep time as possible on their left sides. 5. It May Reduce Heartburn A study written in The Journal of Clinical
Gastroenterology found that lying on the left side can help lower acid reflux signs. This is because our stomach lies on the left
side. Lying on the right side may worsen these signs. The help comes very fast; if you’re feeling
heartburn after a meal, try lying down on your left side for ten minutes. 6. It May Relieve Back Pain People with chronic back pain may feel a little
better if they switch to sleeping on their left side. That’s because sleeping on your side can
ease weight on the spine. Feeling more comfortable will raise your chances
of getting a good night’s sleep. If you usually sleep on your back, your front,
or your right side, you may wonder how to break that habit and start sleeping on your
left side. It will take some time and practice, but you
will be able to quickly train your body to sleep in this position. Here are some tips: You can try lying on your left side and press
a full-length body pillow up against your back. The pillow will stop you from rolling over
during the night. Try switching the side of the bed you sleep
on. This will make it easier for you to flip to
your other side and have the same great sleep. Another trick is to keep a dim light lit on
your right side. Because your body will naturally want to turn
away from the light while you sleep, it will make it easier for you to sleep on your left
side. Try these small changes as soon as you can
– they will make your sleep better and lead you to better health. It’s important to note that some people
– like those with heart disease, sleep apnea, glaucoma, and carpal tunnel syndrome – may
not get help from sleeping on their left sides. If you’re not sure about what sleep position
would be best for you, it’s always a good idea to ask a doctor. This Is Why You Should Sleep on Your Left

  1. Hey there! Please watch the new and improved version of the video here:

    Thanks for watching!

  2. I started sleeping on my LEFT side in MAY 1967. VIETNAM — TWO TOURS. When it was necessary to “sleep” in situations not allowing for the Air Force’s custom made, down filled, bed, I would bunch up my field jacket — or in warmer climate (just about ALL the time) and sans a jacket, I would make a “comfortable” pillow out of my ass pack, and off to sleepy time, usually interrupted by ignorant local people making a lot of damn noise. By sleeping on my left side, and being right handed, I found that I could quickly retrieve my 45 pistol, which I placed under my pack, and quickly get into all the fun that the rest of the WORLD was having at that time! All the comforts of home in a nasty place where individuals I had never met nor was even remotely aware of their existence, were trying to kill me. Ah, yes. That ass pack was really an indispensable item and I NEVER left home without it!

  3. Since you’re in a semi unconscious state,I can start on my back, wake up in a total different position,in between I have no idea or memory on how many times in have moved to the right or left or on my back again.

  4. you know this is complete bs because you will constantly move in your sleep anyway so despite whatever is best to sleep as it kind of defeats the whole thing because like i said we all move in our sleep or did you forget that part lol

  5. the best comment is the one about toss and turn… all the other ones are so dumb, makes me laugh so hard… good video. common sense.

  7. Everytime when I try to sleep on the left side I can't get the sleep, but on the right side "BAM" fast asleep 😴

  8. I have to sleep on my right side, even though I get very sore and want to switch to my left, but laying on my left side makes me partial burp constantly (in that the gas moves up into my throat – AUDIBLY, how annoying – and then moves back down – it will do this over and over until I just get so tired of it that I have to switch back to my right side. I haven't had a good night's sleep in probably 4 or 5 years.

  9. I sleep on the right because I get nightmares when I sleep on the left or sleep on my back.ONLY when it's morning I can sleep on the left without bad dreams.Isnt that stupid?

  10. Y’all need to be careful, my nose got crooked from gravity pulling the tip of my nose down when I slept on the side. At least, I think that’s what caused it.

  11. Did u noticed when she said western study's found out .the reason because Islam discovered this long time ago before western civilisations get there act together. 😂

    1. Left side sleep can help THE DIGESTION FASTER.
    2. Right side sleep can help THE CIRCULATION OF BLOOD THROUGH LIVER.

So both side is OK. U may change sleep side every 2 hours during sleep. And sometimes our body moves on its own without our consciousness during our sleep. 😉😉😉

  17. Nah, screw this. I’m laying on my right side after month of the left side. My body is telling me “FINALLY!” And more than a few times I woke up on my right side when I feel asleep on my left. LEFT SIDE SLEEPING is BOGUS.

  18. How the heck does lying on the left side “take weight off the heart”? Unless one has dextrocardia, the human heart is tilted to the left which means the ventricles are lowered when lying on the left thereby increasing systolic pressure as the blood is pumped against gravity towards the atrial chambers. Also the lungs would then be “riding” the heart. The fact is that the human body is designed to flex a lot within bounds. So it should not matter which side one sleeps on. In fact the body naturally responds to one sided fatigue by turning over the other way.

  19. My left shoulder hearts by sleeping on the left side. Everyone is different, so everyone should sleep the best his body ask for.

Like this I sleep comfortably u said so I will sleep on left .Never keep this in your brain 😡😠. Worst you're videos 😡😠. Hit like if u agree 😎 .

  23. WRONG.

As a molecular biologist – I recommend sleeping on the right side unless you had a very very heavy meal before sleeping…

if you eat dinner around 6 pm and sleep at 10 -11 pm. then you dont neet to empty the stomach – rather its better to sleep on the right side so the inestines do the rest and in the morning your digestive system can get rid of all the waste. You heart is on the left side ( Except vrey few that ACTUALLY have their heart on right side). Sleeping on right side – ease pressure and your blood is pumped better to circulate.

During the night we TURN and its natural.

Drink water before sleeping – so you are well hydrated in your system.

    I RECOMMEND RIGHT SIDE!

    WORKS PERFECT here !
